God Bless You DK,

Thanks for your comment. Very good question. I do agree that many more testimonials should be shared with the younger crowd. The youth need real life examples of individuals who listened to the Lords voice.
To answer your question, I believe that not everyone will have the same experiences when it comes to knowing if God is approving the relationship or not. The Word of God says "draw near to me and I will draw near to you". Therefore, I know that no matter how you receive the confirmation, when you have an intimate relationship with God, you will know with certainty if God is in the midst of it or not. Be it by the Spirit of God speaking to your spirit directly or as drastic as sending a prophet to spell out both of your names and join you two together without having a clue of who you were. Our Father knows exactly how to reach us and grasp our attention. And just as you mentioned, sometimes we just don't want to listen.
We are all different and have a different calling and God will intervene accordingly but what is similar is that God is interested in every area of our lives no matter how insignificant or significant it may seem. How much more in a pact that is made before Him "till death do us part".

Be Blessed,

Yeisie

Good point.
I have a question however. Of course, most believers will say "It's best to wait for direction from God!!". But the question people need answering to is this: "How do we know when God says yes?" Some get amazing confirmations from a meal to a scripture to even a vision or a direct, audible word. But for many of those out there, how did they know? I was searching online and am utterly amazed at how few 'successfully married' believers share how they knew who their partners were. It saddens me greatly. If the older intend to prevent the youth from making an error, then maybe it is time they shared their experiences on how things were confirmed to them. Many people ask God about their partners and to them He seems silent. As a result, they just go with their flesh. I know my Daddy, if He seemed silent, it is either He was setting us up to receive the answer or He kept trying to reach us but we didn't know how to listen....

Excellent post there btw.

In Love,
